Silk is the most delicate piece of fabric in your closet. So delicacy in clothes as in all other things requires special attention. The more you love your silk garments through proper wash care the more shine and life they give you. Especially when it comes to sarees of the females in the family. Women are very much attached to their silk sarees of varied colours and patterns.
A tag is most of the time attached in silk garments wherein it is marked “Dry Clean “. But in many cases dry cleaning becomes an impossible task since people nowadays find it difficult to take out time and visit a dry cleaner. As advised by the detergent powder manufacturers silk garments should be washed by hand when not sent for dry cleaning.
The dark colours of silk are surely to bleed, so before washing they should always be tested through a very simple and easy method of testing. Dip a cotton swab in mild detergent like Super Power and water, then dab it on a hidden portion of the garment to see if any colour bleeds on the swab. Prints or colours that bleed should be dry-cleaned or else should be cleaned separately.
Silk should never be spot treated. If you wash the stain in any particular area of the garment it might fade that portion of the cloth. Instead the entire silk garment needs to be washed with a powder detergent like Super Power and normal water, as suggests the detergent powder manufacturer in West Bengal.
